in this! I got kind of carried away. The first two paragraphs are just describing their world.
On a side note, I love making the names for the places. My best friend in doing so is this site...as weird as it seems...
Anyway, here's a paragraph or two. Enjoy!

Being a leader of the republic wasn't an easy job. There were always people to revolt against the man in charge. There were people in poverty after a quick change of officers, and the wealth families wanted even more profit. Other groups of people tried to take control from the Romans, and lower ranking senators always disliked the higher ones.
Something like three hundred and forty years since the republic was born, there was a young man of noble stature that had been lucky enough to inherit the entire country and its assets. At first, he had been a scraggly man, thin and lanky, but knowing that he needed to obtain greatness to survive, he built his body into one that modeled one of their gods. He was the picture painted of the stereotypical Roman, set against the more conservative ways of his ancestors. Even as he was readying himself for a battle he never wanted, his face was masked with the ambitious grin he wore for his men, his chocolate brown eyes dancing with amusement at his own methods of pleasing them. Before he stepped out to give them his typical pep talk in preparation for a war they may never leave, he held out his hand to the young man next to him and spoke with a deep, powerful tone.
"Give me my helmet. I feel the need to put it on..." He paused, turning to smile at his companion as a friend. "My hair is such a mess..."

That's all you get. D:< I spared you the description of the republic and stuff for now. It's very informative (Thank the book I bought about Caesar last summer.), so don't just glaze over it when we get there!

I haven't been here in 84 years so I'm cleaning up.

My fiancé and I have taken in five orphaned kittens: one orange and white, one black and white, one tortoise-shell calico, and two gray. (One of the gray ones has an orange diamond on his head.) We didn't want to leave them because they looked sick and were barely active at all. They were really dirty so we wiped them down, especially their eyes, some of which were crusted over.
